Getting started.
Yes. Roughly 35% of our active brands started conversations with us before incorporating their company. We don't need a registered business, a logo, or a deck. We need a rough idea of the product, a directional budget, and a timeline.
The first call is always free, and we sign an NDA before any technical specifics get discussed.
A 30-60 minute discovery call - usually on Zoom. We'll cover:
- Category and product type you're imagining
- Target customer and positioning
- Reference products (competitors you want to beat or learn from)
- Budget range and target retail price
- Launch timeline and channel strategy
You don't need to have polished answers - we'll extract what we need by asking the right questions.
MOQ & pricing.
1000 units per SKU for most categories - including skincare, haircare, bodycare, body mists, and tinted range. This is 5× lower than the typical industry standard of 5,000 units.
Yes. After our first call, you'll get an indicative cost sheet within 5 business days. It includes formulation cost per unit, packaging cost estimates (based on the format you choose), plus a directional total for your batch size.
Final pricing locks in after the formula is approved and packaging vendors are confirmed - typically by Week 7 of the process.
Standard split is:
- 70% advance after the product approval
- 30% balance before dispatch
Formulation & R&D.
You can buy the formulation IP from us (if required). We don't reuse your formula for other clients, and if you ever leave us, we'll hand over the complete formulation document to your next manufacturer, once the IP is bought by you.
This is different from our base formulations (in the Formulation Finder), which are starting points anyone can customize. The distinction is clearly noted in your contract.
We can match the texture, scent, and overall experience of a reference product - and usually improve on the active ingredient profile. We don't reverse-engineer patented formulations or violate IP.
The cleanest way is to bring us a sample of what you like, tell us specifically what you'd change (lighter texture? higher actives? cleaner ingredient list?), and we'll develop a "better" version.
Yes - this is our Contract Manufacturing service. You bring the formula (either as a finished spec or as a reference recipe), and we adapt it for scale manufacturing in our facility.
We'll run stability testing on your formula, suggest manufacturability improvements (some lab formulas don't scale cleanly), and produce per your spec. Your formula stays your IP throughout.
Packaging & design.
Both options work. Most founders use our pre-vetted vendor network - it's faster, the unit economics are better, and we've already tested compatibility with our formulations.
If you want fully custom packaging (your own moulds, special finishes), bring it to us. We'll need samples for compatibility testing, and the timeline extends by 2-4 weeks for first-time custom orders.
Quality & certifications.
Our facility holds:
- FDA Compliant
- ISO - Good Manufacturing Practices for Cosmetics
- GMP - Schedule M compliant
- HALAL - for Middle East and Southeast Asia export
Every shipment includes:
- Certificate of Analysis (COA)
- Basic Stability testing report (for new formulations)
- Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), on request
- Free Sale Certificate (for export), on request
- Complete ingredient declaration (INCI list)
- Batch manufacturing record, on request
This is the documentation that holds up under marketplace audits (Amazon, Sephora, Boots etc.), retail compliance checks, and customs clearance.
